The Pepala Playground Project
Help Us Build a Playground
Filled With Joy -
Not Sticks and Stones
Pepala is committed to providing schools in Malawi with sustainable educational resources.
To date, we’ve saved over 5 tonnes of high‑quality items from UK landfill — turning waste into opportunity for thousands of children.
But during our recent visit to Malawi, we witnessed something that stopped us in our tracks.
While we are giving children backpacks full of stationery, they have nothing to play with. No swings. No slides. No seesaws. Nothing.
Children were playing with sticks and stones — literally. Their creativity is incredible, but their reality is heartbreaking.
So we decided to act.

Great News! Our First Playground - Kwiputi Primary School
Pepala built a full playground at Kwiputi Primary School, transforming an empty patch of land into a space filled with laughter, movement, and childhood joy.
You can see the equipment being installed - every piece bringing colour and excitement to a school that had never seen a playground before.

Next Stop: Mlimba Primary School -
850 Children Waiting
Our next mission is Mlimba Primary School,
home to 850 eager learners.
Their classrooms are cramped. Their outdoor space is bare. Their opportunities to play are almost nonexistent.
We want to change that.
We want to give them a playground just like Kwiputi - a place where children can run, climb, swing, laugh, and simply be children.
The method is tried and tested. The impact is undeniable. And the need is urgent.
